Blossom Trees

At The Green, you can decorate and personalise your wedding as you wish. We’re at hand to help and support you along the way as much as you’d like us to.  In one of our recent weddings, the bride and groom used Cherry Blossom Trees as their centre piece.

They really looked beautiful and got people talking!

Unforgettable Love Actually Moment

Each and every wedding at The Green is truly unique; for various different reasons.   One of the most heart warming moments that we were able to witness came via cue cards. Not sure what we mean? Just think of Love Actually!  And without further ado, here is Stuart promising Jenna to always love her.

Something Green

The Inside Track on Wedding Traditions

Whilst wearing “something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue” is perhaps a little outdated, many people still have fun with the traditional rhyme today.

Something old represents continuity and protection for any future children

Something new represents optimism for the future

Something borrowed represents borrowed happiness from another happily married couple

Something blue represents purity, love, and fidelity and is also meant to ward off the Evil Eye

Less well known is the fifth line of the rhyme … “and a Silver Sixpence in your shoe” – which represents prosperity for the new couple’s future.  Traditionally, the sixpence would have been given to a bride by her father but if you’re looking for a thoughtful gift with a difference, why not source one yourself as a meaningful reminder to the couple of their wedding day.  Alternatively, the tradition can be recognized with a special commemorative coin minted in the year of marriage or perhaps the couple’s year of meeting.

Enticing Evening Nibbles

If you’re a bit unimpressed with the proverbial beige buffet, you’ll love the varied options at The Green. Our Cake of Cheese complete with a layer of Yarg is always a firm favourite or for something a little different, try our Grazing Platters – a relaxed alternative for your guests to snack on at their leisure throughout the evening.
