EVERYTHING CAN BE ARRANGED IN 5 WEEKS
Many of our weddings book well in advance but we usually have some last-minute dates and it is absolutely possible to book a wedding at short notice. Our most last-minute exclusive use wedding was booked only 5 weeks before the Big Day and it went off without a hitch. We have many years of experience and we do most of the organising for you.
WEDDING PLANNING INCLUDED
We are a full-service venue and our friendly and experienced team are here to guide you every step of the way. Your wedding planner will always be on hand and we have our own chefs. We’ll provide you with timings, table plans and menu choices. The venue is already decorated and you can hire additional items from us as required. We have excellent local suppliers for photography, floristry etc. We can advise you about the best option for your ceremony and how to book the registrar. If you choose to have guests pay for rooms then we will manage these payments for you.
ARRANGE A TOUR IN PERSON OR VIRTUALLY
If you can’t get here for a visit then we can arrange a virtual tour or you can view a video tour. If you need a Registrar for your ceremony then you will need to give notice in person, in the UK, more than a month before the wedding but no more than 12 months ahead of your big day. Tips when booking a last minute wedding
- Make sure the key people are available – There are people that you just need to have at your wedding: parents, grandparents, siblings, besties! Make a list of the people that are non-negotiable and check their availability.
- Some guests won’t make it – All weddings will have some guests who can’t make it. Expect around 10% of invited guests not to attend. This figure is the the same for weddings that are planned well in advance, this is usually due to changes in guests’ circumstances.
- Let us take the strain – We are a full-service venue. There’s not that much for you to do. Ask our wedding planner, use our online resources. Talk to us.
- Rely on our experience – we have an experienced team and we have been doing this for many years.
- Keep it simple – Focus on the big things: food, drinks, entertainment. The venue is decorated already. If you need extras you can probably find them on our Green Touches.
- Same service just condensed – We offer exactly the same service for our weddings that are booked at short notice. We just do everything to a reduced timeframe.
- Choose a sharing menu – our Sharing Menu is a popular choice. This is a great option when you have less time to plan as there is no need to get pre-orders from your guests.
- Send online invites – Send online invites as this really streamlines the RSVPs for you and your guests. Don’t forget to include the link on our website for the page with all the information that your guests need.
- Choose suppliers that know the venue – We have recommended suppliers but our couples can also bring in their own. For a late notice wedding it is a good idea to use our wedding partners as they will be familiar with the venue and won’t need much input from you.
- Decouple the honeymoon – avoid the complications of planning the honeymoon straight after the wedding. Sneak a couple of days away together in Cornwall and plan a fancy trip in 6 months time. It’s something to look forward to after the excitement of the wedding is over.
- Consider midweek dates – your guests and suppliers are likely to be more available during the week.
- Consider winter dates – it can be a good idea to avoid school holidays as guests may already have plans. You get exactly the same service at The Green on a Monday in January as you do on a Saturday in August.
- Forget about the weather – with tons of indoor and outdoor space you can consider any dates without worrying about the weather.
