Sous Chef – Full Time

We have an exciting opportunity for talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our innovative and growing family here at The Green Cornwall. As a luxury wedding venue set across 14 acres of beautiful landscapes, we host the most fabulous weddings all year round and pride ourselves on providing the very best service and comfort to all our guests. We host any size of wedding from a small intimate elopement to a large and extravagant affair for up to 140 guests.

Our guests stay on-site for two days and are fully catered for throughout their stay including meals upon arrival, breakfasts, canapes, buffets, and the main event, The Wedding Breakfast.

We are looking for an organised and professional Chef, with a background in hospitality. The kitchen team is small, so the ability to work well under pressure and communicate is key.

Duties:
– Assist the Head Chef in planning, food preparation, and kitchen operations
– Oversee and coordinate daily kitchen activities
– Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards
– Train and mentor kitchen and event staff on culinary skills and best practices
– Manage inventory, ordering, and stock control
– Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment

Skills:
– Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in a busy restaurant or hospitality setting
– Strong culinary skills with proficiency in food preparation techniques
– Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
– Excellent leadership and team management abilities
– Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment
– A passion for creating high-quality dishes
– Strong communication skills to interact effectively with kitchen staff and management

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Expected hours: No less than 35 per week

Commis Chef – Part Time

We host any size of wedding from a small intimate elopement to a large and extravagant affair for up to 140 guests.

Our guests stay on-site for two days and are fully catered for throughout their stay including meals upon arrival, breakfasts, canapes, buffets, and the main event, The Wedding Breakfast.

We are looking for a Commis to join our culinary team. The Commis will assist in the preparation of menu items under the guidance of the head chef or sous chef. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of the kitchen.

Duties:

– Assist in food preparation tasks, such as chopping vegetables, butchering meat, and preparing sauces
– Follow recipes and presentation specifications
– Adhere to food safety standards
– Assist in receiving and storing deliveries
– Collaborate with kitchen team members to ensure timely and high-quality food production
– Basic cooking under supervision
– Assist with KP support and cleaning to a high standard

Skills:

– Knowledge of culinary techniques and best practices
– Understanding of food safety regulations
– Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment
– Familiarity with kitchen equipment and utensils
– Strong teamwork and communication skills

Previous experience working in a kitchen setting is preferred.
