Spread the Festive Cheer………….December is here!

Why not book a cosy cottage at the Green for Christmas and enjoy what Cornwall has to offer at this special time of year.

During the run up to Christmas Cornwall is the place to be……. With many a town holding a Christmas fair showcasing the local crafts, the culinary delights of the local restaurants and filling our noses with the warming scent of various mulled beverages……. Why would you want to be anywhere else.

Padstow is holding its annual Christmas Festival from the 3rd to the 6th of December where you will spot a celebrity chef or two providing a cookery demo and some live music as well as a great atmosphere in the local shops and the Christmas lights in the harbour.

Fowey’s Christmas Market will be teeming with lots of visitors ready to see the beautiful gift stalls and the delicious food and drinks on offer. Get yourselves down there from the 4th to the 6th of December to see it for yourselves.

Each year Mousehole lights up its streets and harbour which attracts hundreds of people wanting to see the quaint Cornish Village which is the setting for one of the famous Cornish Tales “The Mousehole Cat”. If you would like to take in their floating displays and experience the magic of Christmas, it will be on from 12th December until the 2nd January.

There are also lots of amazing venues offering a Christmas experience for children at this time of year. Why not try Retallack spa and resort, with their synthetic skating rink, soft play area and Winter Wonderland trail, there is something for kids of all ages. The trail is lovely with four different stages, Santa’s office where you write a letter to Santa, Mrs Claus’s kitchen where you get to help her decorate a lovely bun, the workshop where you meet the elves and reindeer and finally you get to meet Santa himself.

The Eden Project has a fantastic feel to it at this time of year and boasts a large indoor ice skating rink with a café at the edge for those who would simply like to relax and watch others do the strenuous work. You can explore the enchanted rainforest, meet real reindeer and Father Christmas himself.

It is definitely recommended that you call ahead and book for any of the Father Christmas experiences for children.
