What is there to do in Cornwall  when it’s raining you might ask. Amazingly there is so much to do it’s hard to choose. If you have young children there are a lot of attractions that have indoor areas as well as outdoor activities so the kids can play while you relax .
Trethorne Leisure Park is one of these, just near  Launceston, it has animals , play areas ,bowling, indoor golf and a restaurant, so something to do for all the family. There is also The Donkey Park at Gunnislake ,which is only a short drive from The Green. They also have a large indoor play area with a café.
Kidzworld at Par is a covered play park for young children with lots to do . This is next to Cornwall Market World the largest indoor market in Cornwall, which is open every Wednesday and Saturday and Sunday.

For those with an interest in local history Bodmin Jail is a good place to visit as you get to see inside the cells of the jail and imagine the desolate conditions that the inmates had to put up with. On a brighter note there is also a lovely restaurant where you can enjoy a meal or just a cup of tea and a cake .

Another interesting place to visit is the small town of Charlstown near St Austell. This is famous for its harbour and Tall Ships which have been used as film locations for various films and tv series , including Pirates of the Caribbean and the Poldark series. There is a Shipwreck Centre there, which has all sorts of information about the different uses of the harbour over the years. Being a working harbour there are many local craft shops and cafés and restaurants so there is plenty to see and do.
Just across the border into Devon you will find the small village of Morwellham.

Morwellham Quay is a working Village and Mining and Craft Centre. The people who work here all dress up in Victorian costume, so that you get a feel for what it was like then. There is a small railway which takes you deep into the mine where you can see the conditions that the miners had to work in.
There are also craft demonstrations where you can see the Potter at her Wheel or the Blacksmith in his Forge, with other activities throughout the year.

The shops sell the locally made products as well as a wide range of other craft items.

These are only a few of the different activities you could do on your visit to Cornwall and The Green is the perfect place to stay as nothing is very far away. Our Five Star Gold Cottages have everything you need for a relaxing stay in Cornwall. Take a look at our website and come for a visit.
