In Holidays

Where to go while on holiday in Cornwall? Well it depends what interests you, but for people with an interest in history or the armed forces, there is a hidden gem in the heart of cornwall,in the shape of The Cornwall at War museum at Davidstow.

This is not an ordinary museum in a large building with most things behind glass ,this museum is run by volunteers and consists of lots of small buildings, with lots of different things to see and do. There are military vehicals from all branches of the services, as well as different uniforms for different occasions, along with information about people who served  along with photos  of them and their comrades.

They are also in the process of installing a 2ft gauge railway that will represent a WW1 trench railway.
There are too many exhibits to list but with 18 different buildings to visit as well as the outside exhibits there is something for everyone to see or do.
There is a small refreshment area where you can purchase drinks and crisps and chocolate bars, but you are welcome to bring a picnic with you. There is also a small gift shop where you can purchase your souveniers.

Why not take a look at their web site?

As Cornwall has a vast history of military involvement this would be the perfect outing for all ages.
