Looking through the window up here at The Green the sun shining out from behind the clouds, casting a lovely winter glow over the countryside.  If you love the outdoors and walking is your ‘thing’ you are spoilt for choice with such an array of different walking options here in Cornwall.

With Cornwall’s coast path is 258 miles long that help makes up the 630 miles of the south west coastal path starting at Minehead in Somerset and finishing at Poole in Dorest, which plays host to 6.2 million visitors a year.  You can embrace the rugged north coast with its magnificent coastal paths, heading up to Bude or Tintagel there are some fantastic wide sweeping golden beaches that are crying out for foot prints in the sand.  Or head down a little bit further and explore the home of Doc Martin at Port Isaac or the treats of Padstow.  Or take shelter on the calming south coast with its little coves and hidden beaches or the beautiful fishing harbours of Looe and Polperro, there is always a chance to grab a nice afternoon tea after a much needed walk.  For more information check out

Cornwall is also home to some wonderful woodland walk, head down to Cardinham with a number of different tracks to explore or Luxulyan woods near the famous Eden Project for a delightful valley stroll following the river.

With The Green being on the fringes of Bodmin moor you wouldn’t even have to reach for the car keys just pop your boots on and go.  You can follow the roads and most of these will lead you to a local pub, or you could go a bit further afield and explore the moors, with their quarries and rock formations. With the moors being a natural habitat for lots of different animals, birds and insects you will never be short of things to look at and of course a walk on the moors will never be short of sighting of the more well-known moorland cows, sheep and horses. With the village of Minions sitting just on the moors it is the highest village in Cornwall and with the rock formation known as Cheesewring then it’s a perfect place to stop for a picnic and take in the breath taking and unforgettable views.
