Well the Bank Holiday weekend was a mixture of good weather and not so good but I made the most of it anyway.
I spent the Sunday at Mount Edgecombe House( which  over looks Plymouth Sound) amongst Smugglers and Pirates.
They were holding a smugglers market with stalls of all kinds including, crafts, gifts ,clothes, local produce , food from different parts of the world as well as Pasties and of course Cream Teas.
The local radio station was there and there was lots of entertainment from singing Pirates to live bands. The pirates staged mock battles and had cannons that they fired at The Tall Ship anchored in the Bay.
There were also old style fairground stalls with old penny slot machines, swingboat rides, a helter skelter and various other attractions.

Also in the grounds there were a selection of birds of prey that you could get up close to and also watch them doing displays.
What with entertainment ,stalls and the house and grounds to look around the sun shining and only a few showers to dodge it was a very enjoyable day ,and even better it is only a short drive from here.
